What is it?

Los Alamos Gives is a community-wide event, focused on Giving Tuesday (December 3rd) that encourages Los Alamos and surrounding communities to contribute to local nonprofit organizations through a single online giving platform – losalamosgives.org. Though focused on Giving Tuesday and Thanksgiving weekend, the site is open to receive donations all year long.

Who is it?

Los Alamos Gives is coordinated and hosted by the Los Alamos Community Foundation in partnership with Los Alamos and Rio Arriba area nonprofits. 2023 marked the first year of Los Alamos Gives, an event that we plan to grow in visibility and impact every year.

Los Alamos Gives is also YOU! This campaign to support our nonprofit community is only successful if you show your appreciation and share your generosity on Giving Tuesday.

What’s the goal?

The aim of Los Alamos Gives is to encourage individual and corporate contributions to nonprofits that improve the quality of life in Los Alamos and neighboring communities. Specific campaign goals are to:

    ● Grow and diversify revenue sources for area nonprofits.

    ● Foster a greater sense of philanthropy in our community and introduce new donors to charitable organizations.

    ● Educate the public about the positive impact local nonprofits have on our community.

How does it work?

The Los Alamos Community Foundation hosts and promotes the event and works with area nonprofits who take part through their own outreach efforts. Through a collective and wide-reaching marketing campaign, community members are encouraged to visit losalamosgives.org on or around Giving Tuesday and donate to the organizations and causes they care about. The Los Alamos Gives site is hosted by the Los Alamos Community Foundation in conjunction with platform provider Mightycause. For more information see our Donor FAQ and Nonprofit FAQ pages.
