Española Valley Fiber Arts Center

A nonprofit organization

EVFAC helps fill a significant void in arts education by teaching young people traditional fiber arts practices—including weaving, spinning, and dyeing—that connect them to Northern New Mexico's rich cultural heritage.

Since 2023, we've revitalized our youth program with a month-long, free/low-cost summer camp, and in February 2025 we will launch a two-pronged teacher training initiative. This initiative targets both local teachers in schools without arts funding and youth interns from partnering organizations to lead after-school and summer camp weaving programs.

We equip classrooms with portable 3D-printed rigid heddle looms, yarn, and tools at no cost to schools or instructors. This approach - made affordable through your donations, grants, volunteer efforts, and our board Vice President's ability to produce low-cost looms - enables us to make fiber arts education widely accessible despite funding constraints.

Please visit our Youth Fiber Studio page for more details about our program.
